Bill Whitley, left, pictured with Balanay and Cress sensei.

On March 28 Bill Whitley sensei of Shro Kawa Dojo moved to Florida.  He closed the doors of his Stephenville, TX location for economic reasons.  We will post the new location of his school when he gets settled into his new home.  For now, we will miss having you close by.  God speed you on your move and stay safe.

Goshin-do

Again, this semester, Cress sensei is teaching the Self-defense class at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.  With the help of Daniel Balanay and Kaicho, he educates students in use of aiki techniques for self-defense.

Welcome

It's always good to welcome a new student.  Gerry Maffeo has begun his training under the tutelage of Bill Whitley sensei of Florida.  Train hard and strong Gerry, and we look forward to meeting and training with you in the future.

The passing of one of our own

It is with deepest regret that we announce the death of Steve Whitley on Thursday, January 19, 2006.  Steve, the father of Bill Whitley Sensei, was a great supporter of Bill's martial arts.  He was a student of aikijujutsu and performed the duties of Sempai in Whitley sensei's Alpine, Texas dojo.  Steve was a US Army veteran, police officer, instructer for the Alpine Police Academy at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, held the office of Sheriff of Brewster County in West Texas, and local businessman in Abilene, Texas.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  We continue to pray for his family for comfort and strength in this time of loss.
